Maple Bacon & Burger Stew

If you like a warm stew or soup like classic chili you will love this new take that includes bacon (who doesn't love bacon?) and our favorite ingredient - 100% pure Brantview Farms Maple Syrup! Warm up with this easy and flavorful recipe that will have everyone asking for seconds.

 

Ingredients:

1 1/2 lbs. ground beef (or turkey or chicken - whatever you prefer)

1/2 lb bacon, cut in 1" pieces

1 large can whole tomatoes or 3 15 oz. cans of diced tomatoes undrained

1 15 oz. can dark red kidney beans, drained

1 large or 2 medium onions, thickly sliced

1/4 tsp garlic powder or chopped garlic cloves to your taste

salt and pepper to your taste

Directions:

Brown bacon in skillet along with ground meat of choice. Drain and discard excess grease.

Add tomatoes, kidney beans, onion slices, maple syrup and seasonings. Combine all in a slow cooker and cook for 4-6 hours or more until it's hot and bubbly. You can also prepare this meal faster by cooking all ingredients in a large heavy pot until the onions are tender and all ingredients are hot. Enjoy!
