This dessert don't have a lot of flair but packs the flavor in with pure Brantview Farms Maple syrup, sugar, spices and raisins. Maple Spice Cake balances sweet, pure maple with nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon and clove, flavoring juicy raisins for a comforting, scrumptious cake. It makes the house warm and smells amazing.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup pure Brantview Farms Maple syrup
2 eggs
2 1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup pure Brantview Farms Maple sugar
1/2 cup sour milk
1 cup chopped raisins
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Directions:
Cook raisins in 16-20 oz. water on stove top until raisins are soft and most of water is absorbed. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift flour and combine with salt and spices. In separate bowl cream shortening and maple sugar. Add eggs one at a time and cream well. Add dry ingredients alternating with sour milk and maple syrup. Stir in raisins with last of dry ingredients (flour and spice mixture). Bake in a greased loaf or bundt pan for 60 minutes or until well done and toothpick inserted comes clean.
