Updated: Apr 6, 2021

Bookmark this recipe, you will be back for it! Who doesn't love nuts? This recipe is easy to make your own and customize based on which nuts you like best. When looking at the ingredients you may pause and think....chili powder? Cocoa? Yes.... all of these flavors melt together with our pure Brantview Farms Maple sugar and syrup to form the perfect flavor combination. Warning: this Spiced Nut Mix is addicting.

Ingredients:

2 cups raw nuts (any combination of pecans, walnuts, almonds, peanuts, cashews, pistachios, etc.)

1 T salted butter, melted

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp chili powder or smoked paprika

1/2 tsp unsweetened natural cocoa powder

1 1/2 tsp course salt

2 cups small pretzels

A small blue bowl contains a mixture of nuts including peanuts, almonds, and cashews as well as pretzels. The mixture has a dark brown seasoning or coating on pieces.
Spiced Nut Mix offers sweet and spicy crunch!

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spread nuts onto a baking sheet and toast for around 10 minutes. While nuts are in oven, mix butter, maple sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, chili powder and cocoa powder. When the nuts are warm and toasted, remove from oven and place in bowl with mixture. Coat nuts completely. Sprinkle course salt over mixture. Mix in the pretzels. Spread the mixture of nuts, pretzels and seasoning back onto baking tray. Bake mix for another 15 minutes, stirring once or twice until the nuts are well glazed and brown. Remove tray from oven and let mixture cool. Once cooled, break clusters into pieces and store in airtight container for up to five days.
